Last month, Facebook allowed all it’s users to create what they called vanity urls (mine is http://www.facebook.com/narayanan.hariharan) which you could easily share with your friends and on other social networks. While Facebook recommended that users choose their usernames carefully as they cannot be changed in the future, they seem to have gone back on that and let users change their Facebook usernames as often as possible.
PS: If you haven’t created your Facebook username yet, then head over to http://www.facebook.com/username and create yours immediately!
I made a mistake while choosing my Facebook username, now what do I do?
Changing your Facebook username is pretty easy – follow the instructions below.
- Click on Settings on your Facebook page. You can find the Settings link on the right top corner.
- You’ll find the Username option below your name. Click on change and type in your new username.
With the recent changes, you can change your Facebook Username as many times as you want (that is till Facebook changes its policies again!). Connect with me on Facebook using my vanity url – http://www.facebook.com/narayanan.hariharan
